James Hyman Fine Art specialises in International Contemporary and Modern British Art. The gallery works with a select number of Artists and Artists Estates. In recent years its exhibition programme has included painting, drawing, sculpture, prints, installation and video.

The exhibition programme focuses on art of the last fifty years. It has a particular emphasis on the human predicament in the contemporary world with a focus on School of London Painting.

Exhibitions include solo shows as well as specially curated, thematic group exhibitions.

The gallery also has an active publication programme of catalogues and books. Recent Publications include: James Hyman, Derrick Greaves. From Kitchen-Sink to Shangri-La, Lund Humphries, 2007.

Christabel Armsden studied History of Art at University of Oxford (Cont. Ed.) and has managed James Hyman Fine Art, London for five years, assisting in the curation of exhibitions internationally and the management of numerous artists and estates. Her dissertation at Oxford specialised in conflict photography of Northern Ireland. She is a member of the Association of Women Art Dealers.
